Co-Designing the PartArt4OW Open Call: A Collaborative Effort

On Monday the 13th of January we started a series of co-design sessions for our upcoming first open call. These sessions explored key topics such as community engagement, artistic innovation, and ecosystem protection. Experts which include marine scientists, artists, activists and representatives of other programs supporting art and science collaboration, supported us in ensuring the open call text effectively resonates with its target audiences.

The session explored the accessibility of the call text, the definition and scope of Participatory Art Initiatives (PAIs), and the inclusion of subtopics addressing societal and environmental challenges. It was a great occasion for listening to different perspectives and mapping keywords that could resonate with different communities.

Insights from this collaborative effort are now shaping the final version of the first open call. The feedback gathered during the co-design session has been instrumental in crafting a document that is not only clear and accessible but also inspiring and impactful.

Looking ahead, PartArt4OW continues to build momentum as it prepares to launch its first open call. The project is committed to empowering communities and fostering creativity in the pursuit of ocean and water conservation. Through these efforts, PartArt4OW aims to drive meaningful change, inspiring individuals and organizations across Europe to take an active role in safeguarding our planet’s precious aquatic ecosystems.

Follow us for updates on the open call and discover how you can contribute to this transformative initiative. Together, we can create a future where art, science, and civic action unite to protect and restore our oceans and waters.
